Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

We had a great weekend with my parents. We went to the Charleston St. Patrick's Day parade and went to O'Malley's for fish and chips and I even got a beer. The picture attached illistrates that my son, decided that he too wanted a drink of it and put his finger over the ledge and pull it towards him. No, I didn't give him a drink! As if I would share.

It was great to have my parents here. They were stunned at how big Hayden had gotten since Christmas. I kept trying to tell them, but until you see it for yourself, I guess you don't really understand. It was sad for them to leave, but knowing I will see them again soon, I was happy and at peace with our time together. Robert and I even got to go on a date last night. It consisted of dinner, ice cream and a trip to Barnes and Noble. Yes, I know we're an exciting bunch, but it was good.

I also went and test drove a mini-van this weekend. Yes, I know a mini van. Think what you want, but I was highly impressed and said, this is the best invention ever!! You're perspective changes when you have kid, let me tell you. They've thought of everything. Think about it people-- I drive a 2-door 2001 Honda Accord. Which I get my 20 pound kid in and out of the back seat multiple times a day. It's like riding around in a shoe box with a HUGE baby seat in the back. So, a mini van is like going from a apartment to a mansion! Tough I didn't drive away with one, I at least got to see what it was like.

I hope you all get a green beer. Enjoy your day and your week.

Fun, Sun-- The Vacation Destination

Well, the Jones' Inn is starting to fill up. When we dreamed about moving to Charleston, I said to Robert, "you know, if we move to the beach everyone will come and visit US!" Little did I know that statement would be so true. Spring break, family vacations, grandparent trips, etc. The Jones' Inn is now welcoming summer bookings! Though we can't guarantee we'll be with you (we only have a certain amount of vacation days), we can give you a map and send you on your way. I love where we live and for those repeat visitors, they obviously love it too.

Da Da Da

Here is a video of Hayden saying his first "word". Da Da. I'll continue to let Robert think that he means him when he says it. :)

Wow

It's 11 minutes long, but well worth it. It's amazing.

A Marriage Prayer

I read this in a Catholic Blog by Danielle Bean. I thought it was such a good and creative way to pray, I had to share...

Pray: Move your wedding band to your right hand. Every time you notice the difference today, pray for your marriage. Listen to His answers.

Do it and you'll see how many times you notice the difference! Enjoy your week.

Try Something New

I've downloaded a few new songs that I like, I thought I'd share.

First is a essential for every iPod-- Cyndi Lauper. Yes, boys, you too can enjoy her without being stripped of your manhood. Download Shine. It's really good.

If you just can't do Cyndi then try Teenagers by My Chemical Romance. A great beat to it and always gets me going.

Finally, if you want to have a romantic song without knowing what they're saying try Carla Bruni "Quelqu'un M'a Dit".

The Way God Works

I think we all see God working on a daily basis in many different forms. Yesterday, I got a big message that said, "I'm listening." It's always a nice reminder that He loves, listens and cares about you.

I picked up Hayden from school. He moved to his new "big boy" room with the bigger kids. He fell asleep as soon as we pulled out of the parking lot. He played all day and was worn out. As we pulled down our quiet street, I saw something laying in the road. I thought it was a cat, but when it didn't move, I thought must be trash or something. As I approached, I looked out the window and realized it was a purse. I picked it up and took it inside. I found the license in the purse, looked the name in the phonebook and realized it was one of our neighbors down the street. I left her a message saying that I found her purse and left our name, address and phone number.

Robert and I have been needing to get out. We only get out of the house with out Hayden when my parents are in town. We don't know a lot of people, so our babysitting options are very slim. Every couple needs a date night and one every 6 months isn't doing it for us anymore. The other night, I said a prayer that we would find someone that we could have babysit as we went to dinner or just a movie.

I got a call around 8:30. I picked up the phone and said hello. The woman's voice on the other end said, "I love you! I love you! I love you and I don't even know you!". It was the neighbor whose purse I found. We got to talking and as I suspected she left her purse on the roof of the car and it fell off. She said she was so worried about it. She mentioned that they went to dinner with her daughters ice skating coach. She asked where we lived and said you're the one with the baby. I said yes. She went on to say that she had a 14 year old daughter. I said your daughter is Katie. We saw her all summer walking her dog and she's very nice. She said yes, she is. I said, tell her that we're going to call her to babysit very soon. She said, she'd love to. I got off the phone and looked at Robert and said, "God is listening. He sent us a babysitter that lives down the street." It's just the little things like that. Amazing how it works right? I hope she's available this Saturday. :) Enjoy the week and look for the ways in which He shows you he's listening.
