Christmas is Coming, The Goose is Getting Fat....

Well, it's almost Christmas time. Thanks to all my family and friends who thought I should be reminded of snow by sending pictures of it this weekend. Sorry to say that we were in the 80s again and you all can keep the snow. We even went to the beach last weekend and didn't wear any coats. I love where we live. After getting our tree, I'm feeling a little bit more festive. Hard to believe that starting Friday, our house will be full of visitors! The year has gone by too quickly! We've had a great and exciting year and we're looking forward to 2008. I hope we slow down a little bit, but honestly with a baby who will too soon be a toddler, I doubt that will happen.

The company I work for was featured on Forbes again this year. This year, we've climbed the ranks by being #21 in the "200 best small companies" and #1 on the "under the radar" category. I'm not sure how 1500 employees and $211M makes us small, but whatever. It's always nice to see your companies name up in lights.

I hope everyone has a great and safe Christmas and New Year. Enjoy yourselves and your families. Write again in 2008.

Santa Update

Okay, when I'm wrong, I usually admit it. Santa wasn't that bad actually. We went to the small town that my brother-in-law lives at. Santa was a really nice (and not creepy) guy. He really looks like Santa and his beard was real and everything! Hayden did well and though he didn't smile, I can't wait to see Santa's face as Hayden had a hold of his beard! It had to hurt. ha ha. Santa asked what Hayden wanted for Christmas, I laughed and said a Mini-van and a new car seat. Santa laughed. Hopefully, we'll get the pictures back soon and I can upload them. Too funny.

Hayden started his new day care today. I went to check on him at lunch and he seemed very happy and content. After our visit, I put him in his bouncy seat next to a girl in his class. Hayden looked at the girl and got the biggest grin and started saying, "ah, goo". I cracked up and said Hayden at least wait until I leave the room before you flirt! He's great.

Have a great week.

Santa Smanta

I know this is going to come as a blow to some of you. I'm not a girly girl. I know, shocker right? I think tomorrow, I may be in my own personal hell. My sister-in-law, who I love, has asked us to go with them to take pictures of the kids (Hayden and his two cousins) with Santa. I grumble at this, but know that it is a must do now that I have a kid. We agree. I then ask her about what he should wear. She emailed me back saying that the kids would be wearing red and white and the shirt of my nephew will match the dress of my niece and if Hayden would wear something either red or white or checkered red and white, they'll match. Oy Vey! Now we have to go to the mall (another nightmare) in the morning to attempt to find something to match. I know it will be fun and I'll be happy to have it, but it's just something I'm not use to doing. It is a hard transition being a mom, thank God I have my sister-in-law to guide me along the way. Ha. The funny part is the Catholic Bookstore here in town is having A Birthday Party for Jesus at the store. It's at the same time and you'll be able to take your picture with a nativity scene. Jesus or Santa, ah the never ending struggle.

Welcome Back Old Friends

I am glad to see that I am still getting comments on the blog! I can see you're all still out there, listening.

We've made it through Thanksgiving and Robert and I went on our first date in months. We left Hayden with Fannie and went bowling. I even had two beers, but had to stop myself as I wanted about 20 more. It was nice being with Robert alone. However, I have to admit it was like forgetting something important at home. You just never get that comfortable feeling. It was odd. Everything turned out fine and we were glad to be together.

I've caught up with a few old friends in the last week. It's always nice to come back full circle with those people. It's also amazing to see how much has happened in their lives since you last spoke. Some things good, some things not so good. However, it seems that everyone has something to look forward to whether that is a new job, a new life or a new baby. Welcome back old friends, you've been missed.

It's Been Awhile

Sometimes I think I should just discontinue this blog. I can never seem to find time to write and I feel as though I'm losing my audience as a result. Here is an update on the last two weeks. Hayden is now four months and getting big! People look in amazement when I say he's only four months. "He looks SO much bigger than just four months." They about fall over when I say he's in 9-12 month old clothing because he's so tall. It's comical. We've all been working a ton and trying to cram everything in to the short hours of the day. We're wondering where the time has gone in the past year. I am amazed that Thanksgiving is upon us. My parents are coming for a week at Christmas. Robert and I are going to be able to go on an actual date then. We're looking forward to it. I'm still exhausted, as I haven't slept in four months, but it's getting a little better. Hayden is laughing and is ticklish, it's too funny! Kudzu goes crazy when he's on the floor, licks him and then has to push her bit butt in between me and him. She's so jealous. She's going to have a rude awakening when he starts crawling. Sadly, that is my update. Not a ton going on outside of the baby and the family life. I feel like we're in the scene of Old School where Frank the Tank says to the college kid, "we're going to have a nice weekend, taking a trip to Lowe's and Potterybarn, but not sure we're going to have enough time for that." That pretty much sums up our life these days. HA! Take care and enjoy the time off to give Thanks.

Just Wanted You To Know...

Ok, I just heard a terrible story from a co-worker. In summary, one of his good friends, recently passed away in a car accident. I lost my breath. So, here goes.... I love you, I cherish our friendship and I am a better person for knowing you. I know that you all know this, but some times you have to just say it. Take the words to heart and be careful out there!

Happy Halloween!

So, Hayden was the Red Baron/pilot for Halloween. Kudzu was a tired witch. It was so great. Who knew kids would be this much fun?
