Forecast

Well, Hanna has changed direction and should make landfall this afternoon at Charleston. Thankfully, she's a tropical storm. Here is our local forecast.

"Clouds will increase through the day with the chance for rain going up as we head toward the afternoon hours. Wind speeds will increase through the afternoon with sustained tropical storm force winds expected to develop by mid-afternoon. Sustained winds of at least 40 mph will develop by late afternoon and steadily increase through the evening. Some areas could see wind gusts in excess of 70 mph from Charleston county and north. Rainfall totals are expected to range from 1-4” by the rain ends early Saturday. Flooding is not expected to be a significant threat due to the rapid forward motion of Hanna. There is still a possibility Hanna could become a minimal hurricane. Highs today will be in the lower 80s with lows tonight in the 70s."

I'll take a hurricane any day because it means that I live at the beach. I'm sure we'll have no power for a few days, so I'll blog when we get back up and running.
